Miss Independent

First Day of First Grade:
We were ready about 20 minutes before we had to leave. She got out of bed at 6:15 with no problem. We drove to school and I walked her to where all the students line up. Her class is out in the modulars and her teacher instructed her to come in when the bell rang on the first day. We were hanging out with Tommie Jane, and the girls were playing with Jonah. They had a hold of his hands, and when the bell rang Alaina took off running to her class with another little girl. Jonah fell over and I picked him up--(he wasn't hurt.) When I turned around Alaina had already gone into her class. I walked up to her class and she was already sitting across the room on a little carpeted area. I had to tell her goodbye from across the room--she was so excited she didn't say goodbye. :( for mommy, but :) for her.
Second Day of First Grade:
She wanted to ride the bus to school. She got up before her alarm went off and ran out the door when it was time. We waited a few minutes for the bus; then when the bus drove up, she again ran off without saying goodbye. And Again, :( for mommy, :) for her. She's riding the bus home too, Don't really like that she's gone for nearly 10 hours out of the day and asleep for 9 of the other part, but I suppose I'll get used to it. Either that or I'll cry every morning for the rest of my life cause I don't get to see Alaina as much as I'd like. I guess I'm doing my job though, Miss Alaina has become Miss Independent (well, almost.)
