Birth Story

Thursday night at about 730pm. I was laying on the couch at my mom's and felt something weird---hoping it was my water breaking I went to the bathroom, but it was blood. We headed to the hospital and got there at 810pm. Well, I was having the contractions but they slowed down when I drank a bunch of water and the bleeding stopped so they sent me home. We got home about 1230am and I started having very painful contractions about five minutes apart. We headed back in about 230am. I started bleeding a little more when we go to the hospital so they decided to go ahead with the CSection. I was relieved cause my regular doctor was the one on-call. Charlie was born at 510am. They told us the placenta had started to tear away a little bit. He weighed a whopping 6lbs 3oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. (Jonah who was born at the same time, (2 weeks early) was 7lbs 13 oz) I didn't expect Charlie to be so small. So here he is:

Good Enough?

I opened up my microwave this morning and put in a cup of water to heat up for hot chocolate. When I got it out I realized there was a piece of raw chicken in there (amongst other things) I had been wondering what that popping noise was! Well, I didn't use the water cause that's just gross. I made it my goal to clean the microwave when I got home from the vet. I opened it up to clean it and I thought, "Should I vacuum it first?" That's how bad it was. I didn't take a picture cause it's embarassing--a lot more embarassing than dirty carpets. I have more control over a dirty microwave than carpets. Anyway...all that to say...I was cleaning and thought--oh this is probably good enough, then realized that I hated things that were just 'good enough'. I hate the 'half-***' effort people put toward stuff. I hate how lazy people are and how much they don't care. I'm not saying I put 100% of my effort toward everything all the time, but I do believe in excellence in my life. You probably can't tell cause most of the time my house is messy, my hair is just in a ponytail, and my toe nails aren't painted :) But for the things that matter (not really microwaves) I challenge you and myself to excellence, cause let's face it...it's much prettier!

Dirty Filthy Carpets

My mom, being the wonderful woman that she is, came to shampoo my carpets. All I can say is, why did I ever walk around with my bare feet on them, or let my kids play on them. EW! GROSS! DISGUSTING!Who Knew? My carpet is blue!So she filled this up 3 times, I believe, just doing my small living room. That's some nasty dirty filthy water. Oh and the bottom was filled with sand! GROSS! I highly recommend shampooing your carpets, you never know what you've left behind! PS For some reason having dirty filthy carpets does not humiliate me, just grosses me out. Of course they aren't that way anymore, so now I can have guests in my home again.

PPS THANKS MOM!!!!! LOVE YOU!

Blue Eyes

I am in love with this little boy. He's so happy and so handsome. He is such a Momma's boy too--All day long he follows me, and brings me books, and wants to play next to me. I love it, but it worries me a little for when the baby gets here. One of his favorite things to do right now is sit in my lap and watche videos on Youtube. We watch videos of trains and roller coasters and old Mickey Mouse cartoons. Every once in a while he just looks at me and smiles--he loves his time with Mommy. I took him to the train station the other day--he loved it, but I'm going to have to take him back when the train is scheduled to leave or come it, so he can see it moving up close.

My Cats

So, I'm going to complain for a minute..Well maybe I should call it venting. I'm going to vent...About a week and a half ago our cat went missing. I have a feeling she's not alive anymore but I don't know for sure. A couple days ago our other cat got attacked by a dog--I managed to get her away from the dog--God totally helped, and we took her to the vet. So far she hasn't gotten any worse-just some sort of spinal injury, but she can still get around, no breaks or internal bleeding. It felt absolutely awful to watch that, and I am so thankful I didn't have to watch her get eaten. I've been trying to 'detach' myself from the cats for awhile cause they were outside things like this happen. Maybe it's the pregnancy but this has totally stressed me out. I feel so sad about the missing cat and I was so scared for the other cat cause I'd hate to think either of them suffered. Anyway, I'm not sure the purpose of this post but there you go--I'm upset about my cats.

Bikes

One evening a few weeks ago we went behind the firestation to ride bikes. The kids were having so much fun. It was good to be outside. It was fun to watch Alaina ride around without training wheels and Jonah starting to get the hang of his balance bike...Just in time too, cause Dad showed up on his dirtbike and the race was on! Of course Jonah won!

The Beach

One day, we went to the beach. Jonah played in the sand. We walked down the beach in the SLIPPERY sand. Yes, I fell down. Not a good thing to do when you're pregnant, but I'm okay. This is the beautiful place I live. As I was sitting on the beach I was reminded of how much I love to be near the water. I love the sound it makes, and I love how huge it looks when you're sitting right next to it staring across the valley. Alaina loves the water too. Shortly after I took this picture she got completely soaked and muddy. Such fun.
