Whizzer

Now, with a title like that you're expecting something great, right? Well, I'm not that poetic in my storytelling, so here it is: I took Jonah into the family bathroom in Wal Mart today. In case you haven't been in there, there is a tiny toilet and a 'grown-up' one. I usually let him go sit on the little one, sometimes with a diaper and sometimes without. He's never peed while on that toilet, until today. Of course he was sitting toward the front of it, and things were pointed up. Now, while pee was going on the floor, down his legs, and onto Alaina's dress, who was standing in front of him, I was on my own toilet. I quickly got up, and so did he. Then the whizzing started again, more on the legs, socks, canvas shoes, and the floor, Alaina had moved out of the way at this point. I let him finish, all the while telling him he was a good boy for peeing "in" the potty. Clean up ensued. Jonah helped. He wiped the floor with a paper towel and put in in the toilet dunking the towel and his hand in the water. After wiping, washing and drying the floor and the kid, we left.

Be a Princess

I'm sitting here in bed, Jesse just brought me a glass of Sprite with a straw. I've spent the last 8 or so hours puking/sleeping/feeling like crap. I got some sort of stomach bug and it decided to hit me in the middle of the night. He's working from home right now so he can watch the kids for me and is taking very good care of me. I feel like a princess the way he's taking care of me.--Of course at this point I'd rather be doing something else than being sick, but if you've got to be sick...be a princess.

Ten Years Together

Ten Years of Facts:
1. I knew I was going to marry Jesse before I started dating him.
2. He proposed to me 4 days after I turned 18. We got married 6 months later.
3. We lived in Fort Worth for two years going to Bible School.
4. We lived in Vallecito the summer between those two years at school.
5. The first summer we were married in Fort Worth--we had 100 days of over 100 degrees.
6. We went on a "Following the Footsteps of Paul" tour in Italy, Greece, and Turkey in 2001.
7. We went on a Mission Trip to New York City after 9-11, over Thanksgiving. (Flying over Ground Zero--was amazing in the worst sense of the word. I've never seen anything like it. It was huge.)
8. Alaina was born 6 1/2 weeks early in Dec of 03---Jesse didn't work the whole time I was 'living in Durango' waiting for her to be born on bedrest--he was by my side the whole time.
9. When we miscarried--he cried with me and let me get a puppy :)
10. He's treated me better than I deserve the whole time we've been married.
11. Jonah was born at 4:04 am, and he was almost named Noah.
12. Our kids have his sense of humor and his smile.
13. Alaina looks a lot like me (in case you haven't noticed)
14. We're happier now than we were the day we got married.
15. We just bought a piece of land and hopefully get to build in a couple years.
16. I'm running out of things to say.
17. Jesse is the person that makes me laugh the hardest and the person I admire most.

Here's some pics from our anniversary trip to Ouray.
We took our car on a 'drive'. It was a bit scary at times, but we made it to Yankee Boy Basin. It took about an hour to get up there. Would have been about 20 minutes on a fourwheeler. Narrow and steep, NOT my two favorite things. So, this is what we look like after being married ten years. This is the B&B where we stayed. It was really nice. A fancy hotel in Ouray. AWWW!

Old Bike New Bike

This is Alaina's old bike--she has very obviously outgrown--I didn't want to buy her a new one until she learned to ride without training wheels. Well.....today at Wal-Mart Alaina got to buy her first big-girl bike. It's pink, has ladybugs, streamers, and those little clicky things for the wheels. It'll be a while before she outgrows this one. (I hope)
PS I did cry the first time I saw her ride without training wheels. It reminded me of when she outgrew her size 1 diapers. ( I cried that day too) She's growing up too too fast!

#88 and #47 checking off goals!

TEACH ALAINA TO RIDE HER BIKE: done.
(well, actually she taught herself!) Jesse showed her a few things and told her to just go and mess around with it. (this was Sunday) Today she was out in the yard, I looked out the window and she was riding! We went around the block and around Grammy and Papa's circle drive. She did great! She's already riding like a pro.

Mommy/Daughter date 1x a month: done (for May :)
We went to the carnival on the 29th. It was fun just the 2 of us, but being pregnant I could only ride the Ferris Wheel and the Carousel. Alaina went through a maze and rode a little roller coaster also.
